In 2023, I graduated with a BS in Cognitive Science and a BA in Studio Art. I could have chosen one path, but I’ve never been able to let go of either way of thinking. Cognitive science gives me the tools to analyze — to break down the world into components and reimagine how they might fit together. Art offers a more holistic approach: visions that emerge before words can reach them.

Analytical thinking leads me to ask questions, run little experiments, and break rules. Holistic understanding lets me start from an intuitive end — shaping a vision into form. My creative process often begins with a simple "what if...?" What has technology brought us? What could have been made under different perspectives? To think in technological medium is to think its impact on life.

Coding was my first technical medium. I started learning it systematically in college and deepened my fluency during my graduate studies at ITP. For me, coding is like thinking out loud — it becomes a language I use to develop and test ideas. On the other hand, physical things feel more holistic to me. Making or interacting with them could happen without the interference of language. I enjoy envisioning an object and engineering it through product design and electrical systems. Gradually, I started to pick up networking – a skill that helped me connect software and hardware and produce interactive systems in a higher dimension.

Occasionally, I would do a piece or two of possibly artwork, mostly sculptures. They help me reflect on my understanding of the world and get through convoluted thoughts.
