SOUND BOTTLE

A sound recording/playback device using tilt control

2023

This is a recording bottle that records surrounding audio when it’s straight for up to 20 seconds, and when tilted, will spill out the sound at a speed based on the tilted angle. The device aims to simulate the interaction of pouring liquid from a bottle and map it onto sound.

The bottle has no button. All interactions are activated through the tilting angle of the bottle. When it is set straight, it will automatically start recording. When it is tilted, it will automatically start playing.

The interior of the bottle has a simple interface with two LED lights. The green light means the bottle is vertical and recording surrounding sounds. When the red light turns on, it means either the storage is full, or the bottle is being tilted, and the sound is playing.

There are excessive sensors that were designed for additional features that were not implemented in this version of the bottle.

The tilting angle of the bottle determines how fast the recording plays. The bigger the angle, the faster and louder the sound plays. When the sound is almost over, it will slow down and simulate the feeling of running out of water.
